Fukuoka in Japan is a place of many interesting things for a holiday. This city with 1.3 million population and many festivals keeps a visitor on the toes. Though many disagree, Tenjin is considered the centre of the city. It is a shopper's abode for brands from Italy and France and also houses lively bars.

Nakasu is another place nearby which boasts of good night-life. 'Canal City' which is a huge complex has a variety of shops, cinema halls, restaurants and the central 'Sun Plaza', where one gets to see street artists perform.

Yahoo Dome which was previously called 'Fukuoka Dome' can be a place worth visiting. This is in Momochi which is along the coast-line. It is the home for the national base-ball team, 'Fukuoka Softbank Hawks'. While millions come from all over to watch their game during baseball season, this dome hosts flea-markets and concerts during off-season period.

This city offers a wide variety in food in local Japanese foods and from around the globe to satisfy one's pallet. The taste is comparable to any renowned food-joint in the world. In the night the streets wear a different look with 'Yatais' all around. These vendors sell food from their vans all along the sidewalks.

If on misses on munching up some Mexican or continental food, a visit to 'Hard Rock Café' would help. It offers great tasting food, boasts of friendly serving staff and has good ambience.

'Izayakas' are yet another type of restaurants that are in plenty in Fukuoka. Here, a whole range of food and a variety of drinks are served at affordable prices.
