The Great Rockies Sportshow is taking their show on the road to Great Falls in February.
When the days are short and the temperatures are cold, there's no better place to be in Great Falls than the Montana ExpoPark for this sportsman's paradise of an event.
The Great Rockies Sportshow is Montana's premier outdoor recreation show - it's by far the area's largest, and the best! Each and every year, the Sportshow exhibitors outdo themselves with their excellent fishing, hunting, camping and boating displays, as well as exhibits on vacation travel and the great outdoors in general.
Exhibitors from all over the globe - Africa, Alaska, Canada, and surrounding regions and states - will demonstrate the latest outdoor goods and talk about the most recent developments in hunting techniques. Attendees of the show will have the opportunity to hear presentations by the industry's top hunting, fishing and outdoor experts.
There's so much going on at the Great Rockies Sportshow! In addition to the wealth of exhibits you can browse at your leisure, there is also the annual Heads & Horns trophy buck contest, where you get a chance to show off your prized trophy. Also featured is the Northwest Big Game Display, where you'll have a chance to record your prize in the record books for Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Montana's big game animals. The North American Shed Hunters Trophy Shed Antler exhibit is always a great exhibit. We'll also have trophy scoring, show featured wildlife films, give the kids a chance to fish their trout pond, and conduct fly fishing demonstrations, including fly casting and fly tying. Last but not least, we'll have lessons on how to cook great food in the outdoors, conduct horse packing and backcountry clinics, and we'll even have sport dogs in attendance in order to conduct sporting canine demos.
The bottom line for Great Falls residents? This is a great show, with lots of activities, during a time of year when people typically are feeling pretty snow-bound. Not only is this a great opportunity for hunters to come show off their prizes, it's a great family event as well. And if you're not into hunting or fishing, there are several exhibits that cater toward beginners.
The Great Rockies Sportshow will be in Great Falls February 4 -6, 2011. Admission is only $6.00 for adults, $3.00 for children ages 6-12, and FREE for children under 6.
